ANC Dada Morero has been ordered to vacate City of Johannesburg Mayoral by the High Court in Johannesburg.
This was said out earlier today during a judgement that was brought to court when the then executive mayor Dr Mpho Phalatse accused the council of not following proper procedures in holding a motion of no confidence against her.
The motion which was allowed by the speaker who was also new at the time, Cope member of council Colleen Makhubele, saw Phalatse being voted out.
Handing down the judgement, Judge Raylene Keightley said Makhubele’s decision was unlawful, unconstitutional and invalid.
In what seems to be Morero’s social media account, he said he will step down. He also said that the judgement does not affect the council sitting scheduled for this coming Thursday which is said to have been approved by the Programming Committee.
Morero has only been in office for 25 days.
