Husband in court on murder charges

Court appearance today of a 71 years old man who was arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death.

Police Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mamphaswa Seabi said they received information about the incident and members swiftly responded to the request.

Upon arrival at the scene they found the deceased who had suffered multiple stab wounds inside the house. She was identified as 45 years old Patricia Ngobeni.

A sharp object believed to be the weapon that was used to commit the murder was found on the scene.

“The suspect was later arrested after he handed himself over to the police at the Lulekani police Station. The motive for the murder is not clear at this stage however, domestic violence cannot be ruled out.”

The suspect is due to make a court appearance today at Lulekani Magistrate’s Court facing murder charges.
