Having been banned from signing any new players until this coming July, Soweto soccer giant Kaizer Chief’s best option now is to get players from its development team.
Amakhosi made an announcement recently about Sabelo Radebe who has been drafted into the senior team after impressing head coach Gavin Hunt and his technical team during a few games in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) before its recess.
The team said through a statement that Radebe was invited two weeks ago to train with his seniors and continued to show glimpses of brilliance.
“The Soweto-born player is a midfielder, with a knack of scoring goals and is among top goal poachers in the DDC. He joined Kaizer Chiefs juniors ranks in 2017.”
“He joins a few reserve team players who have impressed after being included in the senior team in recent months. They include Lebohang Lesako, Darrel Matsheke and Keletso Sifama.”
“With the reserve league still on hold, the players will focus on their senior team duties. They can be recalled to the junior side where necessary as soon as the DDC resumes.”
“Radebe plays in the midfield where he will join other former junior team members in the form of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Njabulo Blom in the middle of the park.”
Amakhosi will only get to sign new players in July.
