Grandson arrested for an alleged rape of his grandmother

Free State Police have confirmed an arrest of a 37 years old man for an alleged rape of his 79 years grandmother.

It is said according to reports by the police that the pair had been staying together the grandson had gone AWOL for about a month.

On Sunday, 11 April 2021, at about 02:30, he then arrived home and raped her. He threatened to kill her if she notified anyone about the incident.

As a result the elderly woman was admitted at Bongani Hospital following injuries sustained during the ordeal.

The suspect was arrested and is still in police custody to appear in court soon.
