Eskom announces planned load shedding in parts of Gauteng

Residents in some parts of Gauteng are set to wake up to darkness as state owned power utility, Eskom, announced a planned loadshedding on Wednesday morning to avoid network overloading in high-density areas that are prone to illegal connections, meter bypasses & vandalism of electricity infrastructure.
The utility made an announcement late Tuesday night.
Eskom said the following areas mentioned will be affected from 05:00 to 09:00.

- Dobsonville
- Dube
- Central Western Jabavu
- Klipspruit
- Meadowlands East Zones 1 – 5
- Meadowlands West Zones 6 – 10
- Mofolo Central
- Mofolo North
- Mofolo South
- Orlando East
- Orlando West
VAAL
- Boitumelo
- Drieziek
- Evaton Central
- Evaton
- Evaton West
- Orange Farm
- Poortjie
- Sebokeng Zones 8, 12 – 14, 16, 19
- Small Farms
WEST RAND
- Cosmo City
- Zandspruit
The utility also urged people to switch off their electrical appliances during this planned power cuts to avoid power surge when the power returns.
