EFF call for the arrest Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Ngcakula

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are calling for the immediate arrest of Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Ngcakula following failed attempts to evade arrest through court processes.

“Mapisa-Ngcakula’s audacious maneuver to avoid facing the consequences of her alleged corruption actions is an affront to the principles of justice and integrity. By seeking to circumvent the legal process she has shown blatant disregard for the gravity of the charges against her, of the receipt over R 4.5million in bribes while she wshe the Minister of Defence, and the imperative of upholding public trust and confidence in our institutions.”

The EFF added that no one should be treated differently because of their social standing or positions they hold.

They are one of the political parties that had been vocal in the Parliament calling for her removal as the Speaker in the National Assembly. They also said they were going to support the motion of no confidence that was tabled by the Democratic Aliance (DA) in Parliament earlier this month.

A date was due to be set.
