As the football leagues prepare themselves for a festive season break the Soweto soccer giant Moroka Swallows has set off an outstanding start to the Premier League that was badly affected by the global pandemic.
Having been off the premier soccer league radar for quite some time, Swallows FC made a return to the top league in the 2020/21 season.
Popularly known as the Dube birds, Swallows have already played seven (7) games, won four (4), drew three (3) times and lost none. They are also among top 4 goals scored with Ruzaigh Gamildien having 4 goals to his name, 3 goals behind Themba Zwane who is at the top.
Holding the second position on the PSL log, the team added to their winning streak with 2-0 win over Maritzburg United at the Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday night.
All thanks to Gamaldien who beat Maritzburg keeper Sebastian Mwange twice both on first and second half.
Although some might say it is still too early to make a conclusion, it is better to start off early than late.
They are set to face off again with Black Leopards at Thohoyandou Stadium on December 20th.
