Having had a disappointing 2024/25 Betway Premier Soccer League season, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasradine Nabi is positive that 2025/26 season will be different following a promising pre-season tour in the Dutch camp.

In an interview shared on the team’s website, Nabi said he is happy to see that players are starting to understand what is expected from them.

“We saw a lot of positives in our training matches against very strong Dutch opponents,”

“The players have started to understand the way I want them to play and they jell well as a strong unit.”

The team finished 9th on the log with 32 points, 8 draws, 8 wins and 12 loses.Even though the team failed to make it to the top 8, they finished the league with a positive after ending a 10 year drought of no trophy when they beat their all time rivals, Orlando Pirates in KZN.

The win got them a spot in the CAF Confederation tournament which coach Nabi says he is ready for.

He also said that the long travel for the pre-season matches was also in preparations for the Confederation tournament.

However, the team also said goodbye to some key players like Bongani Sam, Captain Yusuf Maart, Edson Castillo, winger Tebogo Potsane who joined the team in July 2023 was the recent one to leave the team.

With several new signings to the team some coming from the Buccaneers, Nabi says they are ready to prove critics wrong by winning major titles this season.
