Banyana Banyana Coach Desiree Ellis Wins CAF Women’s Coach of the Year

Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis scores big at Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards after winning women’s coach of the year for the second time in a raw.

She first won it in 2018 after our national team finished second at African Women’s Cup of nations and qualifying for the Women’s World Cup for the first time.

The former Banyana Banyana captain is also the first to lead the South African Women’s National Team to qualification for the World Cup.

Some of the big winners on this night was Senegalese and Liverpool winger Sadio Mane.

The 27 years Mane was crowned the African player of the year, polling 477 votes ahead of his Liverpool teammate Mohamd Salah, 325 votes and Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez, 267 votes.
