Amakhosi fails to stretch the league lead

While Amakhosi still leads the Absa Premiership League, the needs to score as much as much as they can to make sure that they stretch the lead to secure a 2019/20 season win.

The Soweto giant soccer team failed to stretch their lead from Mamelodi Sundowns who only managed to secure a point after a 0 all draw with Orlando Pirates Tuesday night.

Playing against Wits late Wednesday night, Kaizer Chiefs saw a goal from Samir Nurkovic through a head in the 36th minute of the game.

Perhaps one could say Amakhosi celebrated way too soon thinking they have three points in the bag after a disappointing goal scoring from Cole Alexander in the 89th-minute equaliser for Bidvest Wits to salvage a 1-1 draw at Orlando Stadium which went on until the end.

Amakhosi now has four (4) points ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns who are at 45 points.

They are set to face Polokwane City on August 15 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
