Rivers of Living Waters Ministries Archbishop Stephen Bafana Zondo will have to defend his innocence at the High Court in Tshwane.

Zondo faces numerous charges of rape from his church members including that of his family member on a rape that allegedly occurred over four (4) decades ago.

The 55-year-old church leader will appear in court on nine (9) charges of rape, contravening the Sexual Offences Act as well as defeating the ends of justice.

NPA Spokesperson in Tshwane Lumka Mahanjana said on one of the charges, it is alleged that Bishop Zondo raped the victim, family member, in 1980 while she was eight or nine years old.

The matter is expected to sit from 23 August to 17 September 2021 at Court GA.

Zondo has recently found himself being the topic following allegations that were further made against him by his former church members who accused him of witchcraft at the CRL Commission.
