Supposedly mentally unstable Luvuyo Jonas has abandoned his bail application after making a brief appearance at KwaNobuhle Magistrates Court in the Eastern Cape.
The 28 years Jonas was appearing on charges of alleged murder of a 41 years old Andile Ntutela earlier this month.
National Prosecution Authority (NPA) spokesperson in the area Anelisa Ngcakani said that it is alleged that Jonas and Ntutela met at a house at KwaNonuhle late March in a house where people usually go to smoke drugs.
“It is further alleged that Jonas thought Ntutela was a woman when he took him home with. But he claimed he was shocked to discover that Ntutela was actually a man when they undressed and he allegedly butchered him to death with a knife.”
Ngcakani added that Jonas’ mother and sister were at the house at the time of the incident when he allegedly committed the crime.
They smelt the smoke coming from their yard but did not inspect as they are afraid of Jonas.
“It is alleged that he was burning some of Ntutela’s items at that time.”
He confessed to committing this crime to his sister and told her that blood had to be spilt in sacrificial act to save their lives.
He was later on admitted at hospital for his mental condition.
Case has been postponed to June 1st pending further investigations.
