14 people shot and killed at a tarven in Soweto

Police have asked public assistance is identifying and locating suspect(s) following a shoot and killing of 14 civilians at a tarven in Soweto.

It is said according to various media reports including police that the incident happened at a tavern in Nomzamo section in the early hours of Sunday, 10 July.

13 victims of this mass shooting allegedly lost their lives shortly after the shooting while the 14th one lost their at Baragwanath Hospital.

The motive behind the shooting is yet to be known and made public.
