Case against Tshegofatso Pule’s boyfriend and murder mastermind postponed

Tshegofatso Pule’s accused murder mastermind to appear in court today after being ousted by the convicted murder accused Mzukayise Malephane in a guilty plea explanation.

Malephane alleges that Shoba who Pule’s boyfriend hired him to carry out the hit at a price of R 70 000 after finding out that she was pregnant and he did not want the child nor did he want his wife to found out about the affair.

He further alleged that the initial plan was to hand Pule from a bridge in Maraisburg and take her phone to write a suicide note on her WhatsApp status.

A plan which Shoba organised for Pule to go for a job interview at a restaurant next to Goldreef City, which failed because she did not pitch up.

In a statement issued by the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) it said that Shoba informed Malephane on June 4, 2020 that he would call him to collect Pule where he drove her to Noordgesir.

He then shot her and drove to Durban Deep Roodepoort where he hung her on the tree. She was only discovered her four days later and Malephane was arrested seven days later, June 15, 2020.

He was charged with murder, obstructing the ends of justice, unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.

It was on February 19, 2021 where he was finally sentenced to 20 years in prison by the High Court in Gauteng Local Division in Johannesburg.

His sentence also came with a deal he made with the state to testify against Shoba.

The 32 years old Ntuthuko Ntokozo Shoba faces charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and defeating the ends of justice.

He is due to appear again in court for formal bail hearing on March 1st, 2021.
