Masandawana held to a goalless draw in the CAF Champions match

In just less than three days after losing 2-1 in the finals against Magesi FC in Bloemfontein in the Carling Knockout, Mamelodi Sundowns failed to redeem themselves after being held to a nil all draw by AS Maniema in the CAF Champions League Group B opener on Tuesday night at Loftus stadium. Although some might say the Brazilians fought back, perhaps they not good enough.

Lucas Rebeiro and Marcelo Allande are one those who raised their hands several times but their shots were not strategic enough.

They had couple of episodes and minutes where they were in control of the game with Mokoena also missing some opportunities.

The visitors, Maneima also held their own and fought back, which saw both teams getting a point each.

Masandawana will now enroute to Morocco for a clash against AS Far.
