Thabo Bester and Dr Magudumana arrested in Tanzania

Police Minister and Justice & Correctional Services Minister Bheki Cele and Ronald Lamola respectively have confirmed the arrest of two fugitives Thabo Bester and Dr Nandipha Magudumana after being on the run for almost two months.

Minister Cele said the Tanzanian officials also confirmed that there was a third person who happens to be a Mozambican.
He said during a media briefing that the trio was arrested in the late evening hours last night around 22:00pm with several unstamped passports in their possession. Upon investigations they discovered that the two South Africans were wanted suspects in their country.
It Is believed that they were planning to encounter for Kenya seeing that they were about 10km away from the Kenyan border.
Taking into consideration the style Bester has managed to master, of using several aliases, Minister said according to the information they have they can confirm that Mr is one of the people arrested.
“We have confirmed with all relevant authorities in Tanzania that the fugitives are being processed in the Tanzanian justice system,”
“We are confident that we will receive maximum cooperation from our sister country Tanzania.”
Lamola said it is likely that Bester and Magudumana will be deported to South Africa as they are in Tanzania illegally.
Delegates from the South African police and Department of Correctional Service will depart for Tanzania on Sunday.
