“Western Cape will never be an independent state”

In his close statement in the People’s Assembly, EFF leader Julius Malema sent a clear message to former Democratic Alliance (DA) Hellen Zille about the talks of the DA governed Western Cape to be an independent state.

These talks have been going on for a while now with propositions of possibly moving the Western Cape away from South Africa to an independent state.

“Hellen must go ask Buthelezi what happened when he wanted to make KwaZulu Natal (KZN) an independent state back in 1994 when they didn’t want [IFP] to participate in the general elections. Hence they were put in late in the ballot paper because he finally came to his senses” said Malema.

Although the talks of Western Cape becoming an independent state are yet to reach a big stage for a debate, many believe that this is just a dream which will never be realized.

“That will never happen not in our life time, not when we are still alive, even if we are to die those remaining will carry on the fight.”

Malema also said that the quality of life the natives and poor people continue to live shows how strong racism still is in the country, particularly the Western Cape.

“You want to know what is Racism, and you’re lazy to read it, come to the Cape Metro, you need no literature on racism, you’ll experience it literally and practically.”
