Two foreign nationals attempted to defraud Labour department

A fraud case against two foreign nationals who attempted to bribe a Department of Labour employee to claim Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has been postponed to August 18th.
It Is alleged that the suspects, Takesure Phiri and Issa Saidi approached the official to be assisted with their application for UIF benefits. They then told the official if she can assist them, they will provide gratification.
Captain Dineo Sekgotodi of the Hawks in Mpumalanga said that they further promised her that they would pay R2000.00. Agreement was made for the payment to be done on Thursday, 10 August 2023.
A trap was set up for the suspects when the employee reported the matter because the services are not to be paid for, they are free. They were arrested immediately after making the payment and made a short court appearance at Bethal Magistrate Court where the matter was postponed.
