Suspects aged between 25 and 51 found with drugs worth R 170K

Operation Shanela driven by Komani Crime Intelligence (CI), Queenstown Crime Prevention Unit (CPU) and Queenstown Flying Squad on Friday, March 28th, led to the arrest of nine (9) suspects after allegedly been found in possession of drugs worth an estimated value of R 170 000 at Komani and Ezibeleni respectively.
Captain Yolisa Mgolodela said that the joint team in an intelligence driven operation searched four homesteads at Ezibeleni and five homesteads at Komani.
During the search, a large quantity of boss mandrax and tik with a collective street value of R170 000 were seized in the respective homesteads. A total of nine suspects aged between 25 and 51 years old were arrested during the search and seizure operation.
Five of the nine suspects will appear before Komani Magistrate’s Court while four suspects are set to appear before Ezibeleni Magistrate’s Court on Monday 31 March 2025.
