Police Officers help Woman Give Birth in North West

North West police commissioner applauded police officers who went out of their depth to help a 22 years old young mother to deliver a baby at Monotomosetlha informal settlement.

The incident happened in the early morning hours of Saturday, 06:00am 11 January where officers where alerted by a community member of a woman about to give birth.

Upon realising the baby is just few seconds away on their arrival, four Constables and a Data Typist, rushed to the woman’s rescue and helped her give birth.

A healthy baby girl was delivered and later on safely handed to Emergency Medical and Rescue Services (EMRS) officials at 09:00.

The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena expressed gratitude to the employees for their courageous efforts and going beyond the call of duty by assisting the woman to deliver the baby.
