Orlando Pirates distances itself from Lorch’s alleged domestic violence case

Soweto soccer giants Orlando Pirates has distanced itself from the domestic violence case against it’s left-winger Thembinkosi Lorch.

The Buccaneers said they have left the matter with the police officials to resolve.

In a statement which they released late Monday the team said although they support basic of each and every person, they condemn any form of violence.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club is aware of an alleged incident involving Thembinkosi Lorch.”

“This matter is currently in the hands of the authorities. As a club we cannot comment further except to say that we condemn all forms of violence, especially violence against women and children. We support the rights of each and every individual but we strongly condemn violence.”

“This country has witnessed some of the most appalling cases of GBV and we do not take this matter lightly, however we need to respect the process undertaken by the authorities and allow the law to take its course” said the team.

Lorch have been on suspension since August 11 after facing a disciplinary action after it was found that together with his teammate have violated the team’s protocols.
