A sigh of relief to job seekers who have been complaining for a number years about the cost of sending job applications, never mind transport costs to the interview even when it is clear that some Human Resource (HR) personnel only call some people for interviews just for formalities and to tick boxes.
The Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) has published a circular which stated that job applicants are no longer required to attach certified ID or educational certificates copies.
But applicants are still required to fill in and submit a Z83 form.
Acting Director-General, Linda Dludla in the Department said this is done in order to alleviate the administrative burden to HR sections as well as cost for applicants.
She also said that departments are encouraged to request certified copies of educational qualifications and other relevant documents only from shortlisted candidates on or a day before the interview.
This circular applies to both national and provincial departments.
Applicants are still required to fully fill in the Z83 form and accompany it with a Curriculum Vitae (C.V).
