Hawks re-arrest alleged estate agent fraudster

The Hawks have confirmed re-arrest of a wanted alleged fraudster who allegedly defrauded more than 30 potential homebuyers of money and houses since August 2019.

The 46 years Annika Van Staden was initially and arrested and released on bail pending further court appearance on November 11, 2020 which she evaded.

As a result a warrant of arrest was issued against her and has been on the run since then.

Hawks Spokesperson Captain Dineo Sekgotodi confirmed that they received a tipoff on her whereabouts this past Monday, 26 April 2021, and was re-arrested at her hiding place in Boksburg.

She is due to appear at the Middleburg Magistrate Court today.
