Hawks arrests a man who defrauded the department of health over R 480 000.00 tender scam

A court case against a 50 years old businessman has been postponed to May 21 following a short court appearance at Kimberly Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The 50 years old Kwenzani Ndabeni was arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation team in Bloemfontein Wednesday morning.
Ndabeni was arrested in connection with allegedly defrauding the Northern Cape Department of Health with over R 450 000.00 in a tender scam. He presented invoice documents from his company alleging that they supplied and installed vinyl sheeting at Kuruman Hospital.
This is according to Police Spokesperson in the area Nomthandazo Mnisi who also added that as a result the department suffered a loss of a total number of R 487 500.00. He was released on R 5000.00 bail.
