Goodwill Ogudimmo sentenced to 8 years direct imprisonment for drug dealing

Evander Magistrates Court has given a 47 years old man an 8 years imprisonment for drug dealings.
The arrest and conviction of Goodwill Ogudimmo follows an intensive investigation on a group of nine accused which commenced in September 2014 for manufacturing and dealing in drugs in the Gert Sibande area.
They were both denied bail the Magistrate’s Court upon their first court appearance and they all opted for a plea agreement.
The Hawks’ Spokesperson in Mpumalanga Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said that they were all sentenced to eight years direct imprisonment of which four were suspended for five years in 2018, on a condition that they pay back the state money which was used to purchase the drugs during the operation.
“The ninth accused opted to go for trial after being granted R 10 000.00 bail after he appealed from the court. The case was postponed to 11 May 2021 for trial” said Captain Sekgotodi.
She added that Ogudimmo who had been in custody since September 6th, 2014 after being denied bail also took a plea agreement and was convicted to eight years each on two counts of drug dealing, five years each on two counts of conspiracy in manufacturing and drug dealing.
