Motorists are set to dig much deeper than they could’ve imagine they would this coming month as fuel price increase are set to be insanely hit record with R 1.00 price hike.

The Department of Mineral Resources has released a statement saying as of this coming Wednesday, 02 March, 95 & 93 petrol will increase by R 1.46 per litre.

An increase which will also have a major impact on public users and consumers.

This follows an announcement made by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana this past week that there will not be an increase in fuel levy and also announced a review of all aspects of the fuel price hike together with the Mineral Resources and Energy.

Minister Godongwana has acknowledged the amount of pressure fuel price increase puts on the general population.

“In 2021, the inland petrol price breached R20 per litre. The higher prices have put pressure on the cost of transport, food and other goods and services,” Godongwana said.

The changes for March are as follows:
• Petrol 95: increase of R1.46 per litre;
• Petrol 93: increase of R1.46 per litre;
• Diesel 0.05%: increase of R1.44 per litre;
• Diesel 0.005%: increase of R1.48 per litre;
• Illuminating Paraffin: increase R1.21 per litre.
