Dr Ndlozi resigns from Parliament as EFF MP

Just as many anticipated the isolation of former EFF National Spokesperson, Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi towards the end of 2024 building up to the party’s Nationnal Peoples Assembly (NPA), the party released a statement in the early morning hours of Thursday confirming Ndlozi’s resignation as their Member of Parliament (MP).

Although many political analysts saw him completely leaving the party before the State of the Nation Address, a statement that was released by the party said that Ndlozi will be serving the party locally.

“The voluntary requests to be released from deployment, which were sent to the Secretary General of the EFF consecutively and within days of each other, expressed gratitude to the EFF for the opportunity to serve the organisation and the people of South Africa.”

“The EFF has accepted the respective voluntary requests to be released from deployment of the two Fighters, who have diligently served the organisation in their respective deployments since the EFF has had representation in the legislative sphere,”.

The anticipation emanated from various outbursts that were spread by the party leader Julius Malema following Floyd Shivhambu’s resignation from the party to go join the newly formed MK Party. Although he did not mention Ndlozi’s name, Malema said he was hurt because Shivhambu informed him about his plan to leave the red berets but he dis not inform him.

“He betrayed me, my trust and the party. He should’ve warned me.”

Malema said Ndlozi replied by saying he did not think it was his duty or his place inform him about Shivhambu’s move.
