Covid-19 National State of Disaster extended

South Africa finds itself yet again under the National State of Disaster for two years.

This follows an announcement made by the Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA) Minister, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma who has gazetted a further extension of the National State of Disaster on COVID-19, until 15 April 2022.

She made this announcement on Monday where also said that the extension was made in consideration with the need to continue augmenting the existing legislation and contingency arrangements undertaken by organs of state to address the impact of the disaster.

The National State of Disaster which was followed strict lockdown regulations saw various industries getting negatively affected where many people lost their jobs.
