Boyfriend and girlfriend found killed and abandoned in a bush

The North West police have launched a manhunt and requested public assistance in solving a case of the killing of a couple.

Police Spokesperson in the province Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said that they received a phone call from the community member on Sunday, 19 June about a corpse of 48 years old boyfriend and 42 years old girlfriend who were found in the bushes in Dithakong East village, outside Mahikeng.

The two corpses are said to have been found in between 09:00am and 13:00 100meters apart from each other with some body parts of the woman missing.

“According to information, the couple was reported missing to the police on Sunday, 19 June 2022. They were allegedly last seen alive on Thursday, 16 June 2022, at the boyfriend’s place in Mapetla Section, Setlopo village. Investigation into the matter revealed that a Toyota Quantum vehicle belonging to the boyfriend is still missing.”

“Investigation into the matter is underway and no arrest has been effected. Police request anyone who may have information that can assist in the investigation to contact Detective Warrant Officer Oduetse Letebele on 082 569 1758 or to call the South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Stop number: 08600 10111” said Brigadier Mokgwabone.
