Attempted hijacking at a school leaves one parent dead

Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted hijacking at a school in Protea Glen early afternoon today.

According to statement released by Gauteng Education Department, Spokesperson Steve Mabona said that the hijackers approached a scholar bus at Faranani Primary School main gate around 14:00.

While attempting to hijack the school transport vehicle, one parent intervened to fight the robbers, unfortunately he was fatally shot dead.

Education MEC Matome Chiloane sent his heartfelt condolences and is set to visit the school and the family tomorrow.
