Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) gives Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekgoa a week to close schools amid a rapid raise of Covid-19 infections or be forced to close.

“Schools must close, and they must close with immediate effect because our children are going to die. We give the minister seven days to close schools, failure to do so, we’ll have to close schools ourselves as the EFF” said Malema.
The country has recently been recording daily infections of over 5 000.
Learners were on goin to schools rotationally and the Basic Education had said that they plan to open schools in primary level to full time classes to all learners starting from July.
But the EFF’s sentiments were also shared by the Educators Union of SA (Eusa) which has called for the closure of all schools in the country after reports of an increase in Covid-19 infections among pupils and teachers.
