Over 5K new Covid-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours

Health Department has recorded 5 361 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 1 680 373.

This is also as number of Covid-19 related deaths continue to grow with 54 new cases being reported, takin total number of deaths to 56 765.

“Today, 54 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 4, Free State 12, Gauteng 17, Kwa-Zulu Natal 4, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 3 and Western Cape 14 which brings the total to 56 765 deaths” said Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize.

“Our recoveries now stand at 1 567 635, representing a recovery rate of 93,3%” he added.
