Body of a missing 9 years old girl found floating on a river

The Police in Free State have confirmed the death of a 9-year-old Tariro Jonas who was reported missing by her mother on March 7th.

It is said according to reports by the police that the 26 years old Kgotso Masukela who is the mother’s boyfriend had first assaulted the mother and as she went to the nearby police station to report a case of domestic violence, Masukela took the 9 years old toddler with him.

A case of kidnapping was then recorded by the while looking for the little girl and as Masukela also went AWOL.

He later on caught by the community on March 11th at around 23:30 on N8 road and was taken to the nearby bush where he was assaulted up until police were summoned to the scene around 04:00, founding him badly injured.

He confessed to the police that he had dumped the body of the young girl in Klein Modder River and she was only found floating after hours of search by the police divers.

She was found on April 2nd. Her mother positively confirmed her identity.
