Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 85,7% in South Africa

Number of Covid-19 cases continue as South Africa confirms 11 381 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the total toll to 1 380 807 with Gauteng still the most affected province.

Gauteng now has 373 096 positive confirmed cases followed by KwaZulu Natal and the Western Cape.

This is also as the health ministry also records 647 new cases.

“we report 647 more COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 139, Free State 17, Gauteng 93, Kwa-Zulu Natal 154, Limpopo 27, Mpumalanga 17, North West 55, Northern Cape 8
and Western Cape 137 which brings the total to 39 501 deaths” said Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize.

Recoveries now stand at 1 183 443, representing a recovery rate of 85,7%.
