The Acting Provincial Commissioner of North West, Major General Patrick Asaneng has welcomed the arrest of the 45 years old Sergeant Tebogo Galetlhobogwe who later made appearance in the Delareyville Magistrates’ Court for fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
It is said that the Sergeant, attached to Detectives, was apprehended after he allegedly attempted to release a detainee arrested for possession of drugs.
The accused allegedly attempted to have the Prosecutor sign the R500.00 Admission of Guilt fine documents. However, the vigilant Prosecutor checked the charge sheet and established that the said case was postponed until Monday, 25 November 2024, for a bail application.
The accused allegedly then took the documents to the Clerk of the Court and paid the R100.00 Admission of Guilt fine, but the Prosecutor registered a case before the suspect could be released.
Asaneng was granted R2000.00 bail and is expected to reappear on Friday, 04 April 2025 as a result of his act.
