With a little over a decade without winning any trophy, Kaizer Chiefs says they are still in competition and they here to stay.
Having finished out of the top on the log in the 2023/24 league the team is having hard time bringing themselves back to their glory days even though they still hold the record for the most trophies.
Building up and preparing for the commencing of 2024/25 season, the team have made several changes and signings with 26 years old left-back Bongani Sam being one of them fresh from their rivalry Orlando Pirates on a three years contract with one year option.
“The player spent the last season on loan with Moroka Swallows, before going back to his former team at the end of the loan deal.”
Homever, the Qqeberha-born player is currently injured and expected to join his teammates on the training grounds soon.
“We are really excited to have Bongani Sam in our fold,” says Amakhosi Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. “Given his age, which is 26, he has amassed quite a bit of experience having played for several teams in the Premiership since he started his top-flight career seven years ago. We do wish him well and we know he will fit in as part of the Kaizer Chiefs Family.”
The team also welcomed Gaston Sirino from the league tittle winners Mamelodi Sundowns. He has already started training with the team in Naturena.
