Gardener discovers human remains in Nokaneng

Police in Mmametlhake Mpumalanga are asking public assistance in identifying and locating the family of a deceased person following a recovery of human remains in Nokaneng on Monday, 15 January 2023 around 16:00.

Colonel Donald Mdhluli said that information at their disposal said that a 64-year-old man was busy tilling the land when he made the shocking discovery of human remains at the said place that day.

“It is reported that as he was busy at the yard,  using a garden fork, he first dug up and noticed a human bone. As he continued digging, he discovered more human remains.”

“Police and other stakeholders were then summoned to the scene whereby an inquest case was opened.”

“So far the identity regarding the remains that has been discovered remain a mystery, including the cause of death, the gender of the person, and all of these which will form part of the investigation.”

Mdlhuli also said that the investigators are trying to locate the family and relatives of the deceased hence members of the public who might have lost their loved one are urged to visit Mmametlhake Police Station. Also anyone with information in relation to the discovery of the human remains is urged to call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111.

Alternatively, members of the public can send information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
