Mother and son fight leads to the death of 18 months old little brother in Makapanstad

A fight between grand mother, mother and son led to the unfortunate death of an 28 months old toddler who was allegedly sleeping on the bed.

This is according to Captain Sam Tselanyane from the North West Police who said that an incident occurred this past Monday where Kromkuil, Moeka Vuma near Makapanstad where a 24 years old boy had an altercation with his mother.

“According to information at our disposal, an argument ensued among the suspect, his mother (39) and his grandmother (55). As a result, the suspect allegedly assaulted his mother and the granny. He then grabbed his younger brother who was sleeping in bed and hit the baby against the floor. Sadly, the baby died at the scene. The suspect’s mother and the grandmother were taken to hospital for medical treatment.”

“Police were summoned to the scene where the suspect was apprehended and charged with murder. He is also facing an additional charge of assault with intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH). The motive of the incident is still unknown at this stage”

Captain Tselanyane added that the suspect is expected to appear before the Temba Magistrates’ Court today.
