Three men found transporting stolen 16 sheep in a quantum

SAPS Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani said it is court appearance today of three suspects aged between 20 and 59.

The suspects were arrested this past Thursday during a patrol at R510 (Northam/Rustenburg) near Phokeng.

Ltd Col Funani said the members spotted a Toyota quantum with tainted windows and upon stopping the said mini bus taxi, they found 16 sheep worth an estimated value of R 48 000.00.

Upon investigation and questioning, the said suspects could not properly explain and give account to the livestock.

It was later on found that there was a case of stock theft opened in Limpopo and they were arrested on the spot whereas the fourth suspect managed to evade the arrest.

Police say investigations are continuing.

They will be appearing at Bafokeng Magistrates’ Court in Tlhabane today.
