Former President Jacob Zuma initiates private prosecution against President Ramaphosa

Former President Jacob Zuma has through his foundation instituted a private Prosecution against President Matamela Ramaphosa.

This was said by JGZ foundation Thursday afternoon in a statement.

Ramaphosa has been “criminally charged,” the Jacob Zuma Foundation said.

“President Cyril Ramaphosa has been charged in a private prosecution with the criminal offence of being accessory after the fact in the crimes committed by among others Advocate Downer namely, breaching the provisions if the NPA Act.”

“The serious crimes for which Mr Ramaphosa has been charged with in a court of law carry the sentence of 15 years imprisonment,” read parts of the statement.

The foundation did not make it clear as to what exactly is the president being charged of.

They said he is due to his first appearance at a High Court in Johannesburg on January 19, 2023.
