Tshwane Metro arrests 11 Nigerian nationals caught with nyaope

City of Tshwane Executive Mayor Randall Williams has confirmed the arrest of 11 Nigerian foreign nationals who were found in possession of drugs, nyaope, worth an estimated value of R 700 000.00.
Williams said the arrest of the said suspects came after TMPD Drug Unit members received a tip-off about drugs that were going to be delivered to Pierre van Ryneveld in Centurion.
Not long after the tipoff, an operation ensued which led to the arrest of (1) of the eleven (11).
He was apprehended by officers and arrested on the spot, he further led the officials to their drug house.
“The suspects, aged between 31 and 50, were found in the process of packaging nyaope (common street drug) at a house in Garsfontein.”
“The Nigerian male suspect then led the officers to two properties that he owns. One in Pierre van Ryneveld where drugs were found, and another in Garsfontein where the officers found ten more Nigerian nationals packaging the drugs. All suspects are being detained at Garsfontein South African Police Service station.”
