The Hawks in Mpumalanga has managed to nab Home Affairs officials in the province who have been colliding with a farm owner in Nelspruit to protect Malawian foreign nationals from being deported to their country of origin.

Hawks Spokesperson in the area Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said the two suspects aged 35 and 53 years old were arrested on Wednesday following an intelligence driven operation.

“Information was received about a home affairs official who reportedly colluded with a farm owner around Nelspruit in order to shield eleven Malawian illegal immigrants from being deported to their country.”

“An intelligence driven operation was conducted and the suspects were arrested immediately after the money had exchanged hands.”

Sekgotodi added that the arrested officials are still in police custody pending further investigations on the matter.
