Two murder accused adults still deny the involvement in the killing of a 28 years old Thoriso Themane in 2019 where 6 teenagers were reportedly seen in a video assaulting the deceased.
Chuene Maleka and Alfred Mothapo took the stand and denied all the allegations against them and said they never assaulted the deceased although they were at the scene.
The two adults together with the six teenagers appeared before the Deputy Judge President Semenya in Polokwane High Court but the trial was postponed for judgement to Wednesday (today).
Themane was assaulted at Fauna Park suburb, Polokwane in Limpopo and later died in hospital. The minors allegedly accused Thoriso of taking a cap that belonged to one of the young offenders.
His murder made waves on the social media where several people including celebrities called for justice. One of the accused teenagers later on made a video before his arrest about his involvement in the ordeal.
The adults are out on bail and the minors were released under parental care. Themane’s brutal assault was recorded on a cell phone video that went viral on social media in 2019.
