The High Court presiding in Thohoyandou Limpopo heard devastating statement about how a man was gruesomely killed and had both his private parts and throat removed by a 22 years old young man on their way home from a tavern.

The incident is said to have occurred on August 8, 2018 when Karabo Samuel Monareng was walking home with the deceased Mamaila Mahlatse in Makgomola.

Monareng then took out a knife and stabbed Mahlatse all over his body before removing his private parts and throat with a knife and left his corpse on road.

NPA Spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said the deceased’s body was found lying on the side of the road by people passing by.

“During the trial, Karabo pleaded guilty to the offence and his defence lawyer told the court that the plea of guilty was not by his instruction. The state led the evidence of witnesses to rebut the version of the defence.”

Malabi-Dzhangi added that Monareng did not show any remorse for the crime he committed and refused to tell the court why he removed the body parts.

Presiding over the matter was Judge Matsaro who said the now convicted does not deserve to live in the community before sentencing him to life imprisonment.
