Bogus nurse found guilty of defrauding unsuspecting students

Gauteng Police Spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza has confirmed the death of Traffic Officers, one of which was suicide. Specialised Commercial Crimes Court sitting in Nelspruit has found a 50 years bogus nurse guilty of fraud and sentenced to community service among others.
It is said that the couple was attending an after tears event of one of their deceased colleague. An argument started which prompted them to go outside and speak about the matter.
Later on the 38 years old girlfriend, who is also a traffic officer, shot the 31 years old boyfriend four times leading his death on the scene before turning the gun on herself
It is said that the now convicted Nomthandazo Matsane scammed unsuspecting young during 2016 be pretending to Kabokweni Nursing College employee responsible for learner registrations.
Shortly after receiving registration forms, she told the learners that they had to pay R 12 500.00 each for their application to be through. The money was allegedly meant registration fee, uniform and accommodation.
She also provided banking details where the payments should be made by the said 17 victims.
Hawks spokesperson Captain Dineo Sekgotodi confirmed that the matter was reported to the Hawks after waiting for a long time with outcomes of what they were promised.
“The team of investigators were tasked to look into the matter. During investigation Matsane and her other two accomplices were linked to the case. Investigation was finalised and warrant of arrested was authorised and executed. Accused were arrested and charged for fraud. They were release on bail and attended court proceedings on several occasions.”
She was found guilty and sentenced to eight (8) years imprisonment which is suspended for a period of 5 years on condition that she submits herself to correctional supervision for a period of three years.
The correctional supervision shall comprise of house arrest at her home at Marite Trust for the full duration of the correctional supervision, provided that the house arrest shall not operate during the periods reasonably required for attending to work, community service for a period of 16 hours per month for a total period of 3 years which shall comprises of duties at Matibela Traditional authority.
To participate in the programs determined by the Supervision Committee, under the Supervision of the Supervision Committee.
As well as to pay compensation to the amount of R99 300.00 to state on R3000.00 monthly instalment. The clerk of the court Mbombela to receive all payments made until the full amount have been received, where after the clerk of the court must contact the 17 beneficiaries and pay them accordingly.
