Mother beats 11 months old baby to death

A 42-year-old mother from Ha-Lambani Tswinganani village in Limpopo, Mutavhatsindi Ndishavhani has been remanded in police custody after making a brief appearance in the Tshaulu Periodical Court on a charge of murder.

The 42 years old Ndishavhani was arrested after allegedly beating her 11-month-old baby to death.

It is alleged according to NPA Spokesperson in the area Mashudu MMalabi-Dzhangi that the woman locked herself and the boy inside her house and started praying. She then started hitting the child.

“Community members heard the baby’s high pitched cry and rushed to the house. After realising that the door was locked, they broke it down and rescued the badly injured baby from the mother. The baby was rushed to the local clinic in Lambani but was certfied dead on arrival.”

“The case was postponed to 03 August 2021 for further investigation and the woman was remanded in custody.”
