26 years old man arrested in connection of murder and rape of a 4 years old little girl

Horrific scenes at Kgomotso village near Taung in the North West where a 4 years old little girl lost her life in the hands of a 26 years old boy who allegedly raped and killed her.

The 26 years old suspect was arrested on May 20 following the discovery of the victim, Tshimologo’s naked body and clothes which were found in the bushes on Sunday, 16 May 2021, at Kgomotso village near Taung.

Police Spokesperson in the area Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani said that the suspect capitalized on the mother’s trust and vulnerability at the time before kidnapping her daughter.

“According to information at our disposal, the suspect was nabbed at his residential place in Jan Kempdorp, Northern Cape. It is alleged that the suspect is a colleague and one of the people who accompanied Tshimologo’s mother from the tavern to her friend’s house where she slept. The suspect allegedly waited for the mother to fall asleep, then kidnapped the child and took her to the nearby bushes where he raped and killed her.”

“The suspect is expected to appear in the Kgomotso Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 May 2021. Investigation into the matter including the possibility of charging the mother, is underway.”
