The NPA’s Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) has refuted claims of a possible warrant of arrest issued against National Police Commissioner General Fanie Masemola.
These are the claims which people say gave birth to the explosive press conference that was buried by KZN Police Commissioner Lt Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi where he made several accusation about corruption with the police and senior politicians who are also colluding with criminals.
It is alleged that the arrest warrant was imminent before the presser but only lost momentum afterwards. However, IDAC denies such claims.
“The NPA’s Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) has, in the past weeks, received media queries relating to unfounded allegations of warrants having been issued for the arrest of the National Police Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola and others, and has taken note of numerous false articles that have been published on these allegations.”
“IDAC maintains what it has repeatedly confirmed to the media: These are untrue allegations; no such warrants have been issued.”
