Community members in Kgabalatsane accuse pastor of kidnapping

Police have confirmed an arrest and court appearance of two suspects accused of arson and found allegedly with stolen property.
Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani said that the police were summoned to a pastor’s church in Kgabalatsane village in the North West on Thursday, May 30th about a scene were around 300 community members were gathered around the pastor’s church accusing him of kidnapping and keeping children in his house.
“Police consequently found three children and handed them to their parents who denied the alleged kidnapping. The police escorted the pastor to the Police Station after the angry mob threatened to assault him. However, the Police were later called and informed that the pastor’s house was burning.”
“Subsequent to the incident, two suspects aged, 19 and 54, were arrested for arson and possession of suspected stolen property. They are expected to appear before the Ga-Rankwua Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 3 June 2024.”
