Suspects abandon hijacked bakkie in Nokaneng

Police in Mmametlhake are asking for public assistance to locate suspects who hijacked a 33 years old man whose Nissan NP 200 was taken from him at gun point by two African males who were driving a white Golf TDI with no number plates.

Police say the incident allegedly occurred on January 25th around 18:05 while on his way home from work at Dihekeng.

The suspects allegedly approached his vehicle from behind between Nokaneng U-save and Community Hall and pointed a firearm at him. He was instructed to stop the vehicle and unlock it for them to get inside before instructing him to drive towards Nokaneng Public road.

“Whilst travelling between Nokaneng and Sehoko bushes  the Suspects instructed him to get out of the vehicle and was escorted to the nearby bush.”

“Few minutes later he realized that they had driven off and he walked towards the road to ask for help. The taxi came and informed the taxi driver who followed the lead. Whilst on the way, they noticed a police vehicle that was passing by and reported the matter to them.”

This is according to the police who added that they discovered the vehicle being abandoned around the bush after following up on the given information.The Suspects fled the scene with the vehicle keys.

The police are  still in pursuit of the suspects and are appealing to anyone who might have information that can assist in the investigation which can lead to the arrest of perpetrators to contact Capt. Moshime 0820651355.
